Suggestions for trainer in NC

Recently relocated back to eastern north carolina. Looking for a trainer to send a year old male black lab to for training. He is an awesome dog but due to two career moves in the last year I have not spent as much time with him as I should have. I am not interested in HT/FT but would like to eventually duck hunt with him if we can get to that point. Looking for suggestions on trainers who are within a couple hours drive time so that I can stop in and learn from the trainer as the dog progresses. I have seen trainer suggestions on here and most are in central/western NC. If they are really worth it I will drive that far (or SC/VA), but would prefer to stick local.

Ditto on Chris Locklear. I only spent one day with him but was impressed. Many of my friends have worked with him as well. Been a while since I've been in NC, but it always seemed to me living in the Piedmont area that all the good trainers were in the east! But if you are interested in the Piedmont, none better than Terry Price.

Not sure what is considered eastern NC, but I recommend Jim Elam who is located not to far -- 45 minutes or so from Roanoke Rapids and Rocky Mount area. Excellent young dog trainer and prepares dogs for both HTs and FTs.

Nothing against any of the guys mentioned but I think Dave Wilson and Juan Rosas at Goldleaf Retrievers are as good as it gets in the HT game. Juan has done the basics on numerous FC's also.
