Now, back to the original post: I'd like to see the entire routine. All that link shows is a short clip. I have seen some of his stuff before and he can be a great satirist. It may be that if we saw that part of his routine in its entirety, the perception would have been different. It may be that we would have seen that he was actually ridiculing the very attitude he was evidencing at the time. Problem here is we don't know because we didn't see the whole routine. Definitely not enough evidence to get one's panties in a wad if looked at logically.

The guy is a comedian. He said something that wasn't funny and now the far-righties, using anything than can to get whipped up into hysteria are now in their element.

What I stand for is too harsh for the general population here. I posted my stance at an earlier time and it was "barbaric" and unacceptable. Just what is my kind? Let me ask you a question. do you have daughters? If so, how would you react if she brought home her new boyfriend and he was either black or mexican?

That comment should be beneath even you, Murral. It's just another version of the liberal race card...assuming everyone on here is such a bigot that they'd freak out if their daughter dated someone of a different race or religion. I think most on here would be fine with it as long as the guy was a decent person. Rapists, wife beaters, thieves and leaches on society come in all colors.

No it wasn't funny. But it definately plays to a core issue that has ruined this country. We gave up what was right for what is pc and popular. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Man I miss my grandma. We are not that far apart Franco. I loath the spending, the loss of liberties.....I treasure our constitution--what an incredible amazing "thing"(I am tired...) that was? Oh--History major, U of I. and then Environmental science for 2nd degree, I do love my dirt.

My daughter has done both. Did not bother me at all. Nice God fearing young men. Now talk to me about the Pakistan muslim bigot she thought she loved---oh now there is an enlightening conversation. Want to know how they hid their love from his family? How he treated her? He is now in his arranged marriage running a gas station in the town I live in. Still not a citizen, but at least he pays taxes. Well then we do have some things in common as I love my dirt too.

I have never disputed that Obama plays to the lowest common denominator among us. I do not like his Socialist agenda. However, the moral and financial mess was created by both major political parties. There was only one Constitutionalist that ran in the Primaries and he was widely rejected by both the GOP brass and voters. Bush and Reagan trashed the document just as much as Obama and Clinton.

What this country needs is another voice! A voice with different ideas, whose ideals are founded in The Constitution. Which begs the question; if our most influential Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson, were alive today, which party would he belong to?

I wasn't playing the race card. I was asking the question to those that claim not to be racist to see how they would answer it. Did you notice the lack of a response by the one I posed the question to? Mothers have an entirely different outlook on whom their daughter dates than dads do. I will wait 24 hours to see if I get a response to come to a conclusion.

For the record a few years back one dated a college baseball player from Mexico. We had him over to the house on numerous occasions and he spent one Christmas at our house. Umm... there is a critique to be made about the stupidity of the comment (I mean... the Foxx comment, not necessarily... well... you know... whatever.) Then there is the political critique that has been well hashed out here. But there is a religious element to all this that is simultaneously obvious and studiously ignored. Very much the t*rd in the punchbowl so to speak.

Go with me here for a minute. I'm going to try and put some intense feelings into words and I may not be very successful. Here goes:

There are folks who are devoutly Christian. They have a deep and abiding passion for One they believe is God-made-flesh who was born into poverty, lived among us, died a death he didn't deserve in order to redeem people whose only recommendation was their hatred and enmity toward Him and His Father.

WHAT have they (these believers) done to this comedian, that he should hijack their devotion and call for it to be applied to a finite and fallible human being? How has THE Lord and Savior so offended Foxx that he should demand worship of his favorite politician with praise that belongs only to God?

Why blaspheme God and ridicule Christians? Why?

So, I guess I'm saying that this man's idiocy was a deliberate effort to profoundly offend Christians. I don't know if folks who are not particularly Christian would feel offense on our behalf. I sort of hope they would just as I hope our society at large has not gone as seriously off kilter as it sometimes seems.

(As an aside: Curiously, Mr. Foxx didn't slip up and proclaim his favorite politician to be Allah or Allah's Prophet. Hmmm. Wonder how come?)

Indeed... I'm about to become grandmother to two Haitian children being adopted by my daughter and her husband. You better believe I want them to be as free to love and be loved as our caucasian, natural grandchildren.

Not well played. Sadly the independent/libertarians will suffer as much as the rest. We are beat down by violence on TV, prime time porn streaming to our children, parents that don't give a shit about the life they brought into this world. And you say it was the mindset of hardworking, morally grounded people who got him elected?? Because we don't believe in his utopia? We don't worship these false idols called celbra-idiots?? No what got him elected was the fact that people are content to stick their heads in the sand while our constitution is gutted and pissed on. What got him elected was the internet/twitter/lamestream media that spun everything is just fine, go back to your food stamps, the Gov will take care of you while you live in poverty, sleep till noon, sell drugs, ignore your children........fall farther into the vicious circle of welfare and urban blight. I'm sorry Franco but your signature lines begs the question~when are you critical of the man in the mirror and how do WE fix this?? Very good post. You think a lot like I do. When I point out to some family members that you can't get out of debt by spending and then borrowing more money they ignore that and start talking about something else. I don't know where their reasoning power went but it's gone.
