What do you guys think of this breed? I am interested, but want to do my homework before I get a pup. I would like to get into hunt testing with my next dog.

Go for the ice cream(spumoni) instead of the breed. I am sure there is someone on here who believes they are the best breed in the sporting world, but the ones I have seen are low octane.
And for now, they are not approved to participate in AKC hunt tests.

Cool looking dog, I had a GWP so Im partial to the bearded hippie looking dogs

I judged Sweetbriar's Enea di Futoro in a JH about a year ago. Different looking dog for sure, when surrounded by Labs. It passed and had enough drive for the JH stake.

Friend of mine had one. Neat dog.....slimed alot. Also do you r home work on heath problems with these. Not a lot in the US....hers died early on from cancer. I know that when she got hers that there were only 100 here in the states. Hers was imported from Italy.

I've been around a few recently imported from Europe and two others from Stateside. All have been very shy dogs, not bird motivated and move very slow. They would not be my choice for a person interested in doing much hunting. Otherwise, they seem very loyal to their owners and extremely disinterested in anyone else.
