    Default Lab Puppy question

    New to the forum and would like to ask a question. I have a chance to buy a 13 week old Lab pup that has only dropped 1 testicle so far. The price is right and I would like to get my son one for Christmas. Anyone had any experince with this?

    I would not count on the other one dropping, really should have already. The vet will need to go in for the other one when the dog is neutered, makes it a little more complicated, like a spay. Has to be removed because they are more likely to go cancerous than un-retained ones. No breeding, it is heritable. I'd be more worried about whether the parents had hip/eye/EIC clearances than the retained testicle, since it will no longer be an issue after neutering.
