    Default FF Bumper Recommendation

What do you guys use as the first bumper for FF? I have seen commercial ones available specifically for use in FF, but I would think they would be easy enough to make with a dowel and a couple blocks of wood. What are good dimensions if I go that route rather than buying commercially made.

I use a paint roller prior to switching to a bumper.

Me too. The bumper I switch to first is a small white plastic knobby. But I keep them on rollers until we're ready for Walking Fetch.

Normally I start with small bumpers. But because Rowdy is so small I started with a paint roller on force hold then switched to a 1 1/2 bumper.

I use the wooden ones with the flat wooden panels on each side. Forces them to grab in the middle.

That is what I am looking for. I believe that style also makes the transition to picking up off the ground easier too. Found some on GunDog supply. I went ahead and ordered from them....

Thanks for the inputs in the other replies.
