bumper boy cocking handle

Alright I did a search and there are tons of threads on the problems with bumper boy servos, their service or lack there of, the batteries, the recievers and remotes but I could not find one for my problem.

I have an older 4 shooter bumper boy and the cocking handle at the bottom on one will not cock, I can pull it down but it will not latch, I tried calling bumper boy and got an answering machine so before I tear into this thing I would like to know from experienced bumperboy trouble shooters what the problem actually is and how hard it is to get a replacement part if needed.

Something may be broken. You can try pulling it down and spraying some type of gun cleaning solvent in where the shell goes and let it drain out the bottom where the handle is. Letting the handle up and down as you spray. I do that occasionally followed by some type of gun lube. It's worked for me when they wouldn't fire reliably. I've never had the problem you're having.

If that works, be sure it works good and that you get a reliable click when you cock it. If not just replace the mechanism. It's obviously very important that it is reliable for safety reasons. The manual tells us to wait for that click whenever we cock it.

If you hold after the answering machine at BB they usually pick up pretty quick or they'll answer your email too.

check the arm on the servo and make sure it is over far enough to let it cock. You can push it over with a little effort. If that isn't the problem, I'd clean that trigger area with spray gun scrubber or brake cleaner. Then re-lubricate with graphite.

Have often had that problem and it is the arm not moving over properly but don't know why that happens.

OK...more bullets in my chamber to get a thunder! It seems with the bumber boy's if it's not one thing it is another!!! Seems like WAY too much drama for the price! Seems like thunder is the way to go?!

That is why I sold my 8 and 4 shooter. They are like a boat. The best one to have is a friends.

I had this problem once. I called BB and got a replacement part. By the way I seldom have problems with my four BB but an occasional problem occurs. With anything mechanical there will be wear and tear and things that break.
