Where should we stay overnight while travelling south?

We are planning our commute to southern CA and have had difficulty in the past finding a place to park our RV overnight midway between northern CA and Niland. Does anyone have any suggestions for a RV park close to I5?
We are fine with casino parking lots and campgrounds.
Mostly we'd like it to be close to I5and be safe for us and dogs.

Does anyone have suggestions?

I have stayed at this RV park before, it is just minutes from the Prado recreation dog training grounds and definitely along a suggested route to Niland, lots of places nearby to restock any needed supplies (wal mart, and other retail areas)

one of my friends from Oregon stays in Santa Nella, there is a rv park there across from mcdonalds, down 33 towards 152 there is a wildlife refuge, Oneal Forbay. you can air and train there. its about 2 miles from the rv park

Santa Nella Holiday Inn Express is a great spot. Big open area behind the hotel and close to training/hunt test area. Might check with some folks who train at Goose Lake to see if there are accomodations or areas off the 46 fwy/I-5 cross section.

We liked the Orange Grove RV Park near Bakersfield, CA.

Thanks for the responses! It looks like Santa Nella will be where we will stop for the night.

Last year we couldn't find a place anywhere. Garmin just wasn't giving us anything except an RV park east of Santa Clarita thru some mountains and a long dark winding road......................in the dark. Finally found the place it directed us to . Got out the dogs, one by one.....in the dark. Rustling noises in the bushes.....completely dark.
While doing the last dog (hubby was parking the trailer and setting up) there was suddenly very loud ROARING of many large animals. Cougars or lions in California?? I jumped in the trailer and wouldn't get out for the rest of the night. I had a nightmare that a big cat ate my pup.

In the morning the sun was shining and it was a nice place. In speaking with the RV manager we asked about the ROARING.
Apparently we were parked next to a lion rescue/refuge and had arrived at feeding time.

Didn't want to make that mistake again this year.... so thanks to all of you!
