Haven't posted on here in a while due to the hunting season and school.
I have had the pleasure of watching a very young in experienced dog grow into a great hunting companion. I truely understand the whole picture of waterfowling now. Last year I was all about finding the ducks and laying the hammer to em. This year I really took a step back and found I love watching a good dog work more than anything else. (Dont get me wrong I love to pull the trigger) but nothing gets my blood pumping more like a good retrieve!
Id like to share one of my most memorable stories of this year:
Drake and I were hunting in our honey hole, a backwater slough on the Missisippi River. A BWT buzzed the dekes fast and by the time I got up it was about 45 yards took an instinctive quick shot. The duck sailed and eventually went down at about 100+ yards. I send the dog on the cripple stop him as he was hung up on the AOF. Give him an angled back and he took that all the way to the bird, which dove on him. He dove after it and nabbed it. What a rush I must have yelled good dog so the whole county could hear it I was proud.
Anyways here are some pics from the season: 384522_10150390504173977_515993976_8341672_589271640_n.jpg 313630_10150311974756689_734851688_8342444_885368055_n.jpg 313272_10150390505773977_515993976_8341684_450094691_n.jpg384304_10150390507548977_515993976_8341702_1079212588_n.jpg family pics 005.jpg
