    Default Best cold weather bumper?

So, this will be the first year I've ever had to train in the cold and snow. Didn't take long to figure out bumpers turn very hard. Seems to be causing her to chew, roll, cigar, just not holding them well. I have not forced yet but she held nicely prior to the cold hitting. I really feel it's the frozen bumpers. Are some dummies better for cold weather training?

    Thanks,

    Danny

The softest bumpers are the Dokken super dummies:

If you need something bigger (I think the dokkens are 2") or a different color try the DT soft mouth trainer.

I don't like canvas as much as snow sticks to them.

(The Lucky Dogs that I have are like rocks compared to the DTs.)

Dokken deadfowl or Dokken super dummies for sure, just make sure you can put them some place to dry after use.

Once it's below freezing, I go with canvas bumpers.

You really gotta be careful about how high a pedestal you put your method, your accomplishments, your dog on. There's usually someone who's done more, somewhere. And they may have used a different method than you did! Chris Atkinson 2013

DT Systems soft mouths for sure. The dokken supper dummies are really soft as well but in snow the absorb the moisture and freeze.
