This is the exact defeatist language currently being spoken by the representatives that were voted in to protect my 2nd amendment. We should not concede anything, as responsible gun owners we've done nothing wrong, we have nothing to apologize for and we surly do not deserve to lose or have a constitutional right compromised.

Concede what and why? Allow the passage of useless legislation intended to correct a non-existant problem? Create another unnecessary and ineffective bureaucracy that will simply squander more taxpayer money? Heck no!!
And no this doesn't need to be on POTUS. This issue has the potential to have a direct impact on a very large percentage of the users of this forum.
Any doctrine that weakens personal responsibility for judgment and for action helps create the attitudes that welcome and support the totalitarian state.

Both the NRA and GOP desperately needs someone to step up that can articulate a message. Both stand on sound principles but have NO ONE that can tell their story effectively. The NRA missed a HUGE opportunity when they sent Lapierre out there last week... Obama isn't successful because of what he stands for, he is successful because he can speak effectively.
