Freezing water tank on dog box

Any suggestions for keeping a dog box water tank from freezing up during late season hunting trips?

No I just drain them and use a portable 7 gal water tank. I suppose you could use 12 volt heat pad that's what they use on water truck valves in the north.

Keeping them drained is the best policy, if you get lines and connections bursting it is a major pain in the butt.

If you've got a pump, drain it as well.
