Slowing down on the return

If you are just starting/teaching doubles, is your dog looking to where the memory bird is trying to figure out where to go next? Just a thought, could be a confidence thing. Does the dog have the same behavior when returning from a single mark?

if your just hunting with the dog who cares how long it takes. Point is your not the one having to go get the bird. If your doing Trials and Tests then thats a whole other story. Mine walks back during yard training and its annoying but the goal of retrieval is achieved.
