Hi all, new here, only a couple days lurking in back round. Learning a lot in just a short time. Anyways we lost our 7year old in November and he was in his just getting into his prime. Miss my partner a lot. Getting a pup in Febuary and was wondering if the book I used last in training, Water Dog by R. Wolters is recommendable or any others. The wife just gave me Game Dog by same author. Any help would be of great help.
I thought I had an easy answer for you but upon thinking about it a while it is harder than it sounds. Family dog first. Just me and wife and a retried 12 year old lab that took over the couch. Upland hunting and never did any field trials but looks and sounds interesting. Next time one is schedule in our area we are going to watch. Last lab was just so easy to train, just not sure of or next. Previous lab had hand signals and whistle down pretty could for my hunting ability. Like to extend the season with possibly more training.
It sounds to me like you may be getting interested in at least Hunting Tests. If this is the case you may want to add some of the other books to your library and probably join a training group.
