I've never tried seaducking, even thought I'm surrounded by it. I shoot wild game to eat it, and I've heard that's a challenge with divers. Do you find the birds suitable as table fare?
I want the hunt without the guilt - what do you do with the birds? We've all heard the famous bluebill recipe that involves stuffing the bird with cow manure, cooking at 350 for 30 minutes, then throwing the bird away and serving the manure..... What's the reality?

Broadbill in creole sauce served over rice-very good, eider prepared as "teriyaki duck" and sliced thin-good, bufflehead soaked in salt water and then marinated and prepared like broadbill-never again. It took me 5 days eating a little at a time and I couldn't eat more than half a duck.

No the one guy who would have come with me early couldn't get the time off as first thought he could.
We drove up Friday. Hunted Saturday and Sunday Morning until 2. And then drove home Sunday night. Made for a long drive home...

We didn't eat any of the 19 we killed. But 10 of them are going on the walls. The other 9 are going to be use for training ducks.

Thanks for the feedback - I'll stick to puddleducks. I have some frozen domestic mallards that have been through the throw/retrieve/freeze/thaw cycle about 10 times - maybe I can use one to simulate eating a scoter or bufflehead. Hmmmm.
