IT IS TIME TO PLAY..............................KNOW YOUR GOLDEN RETRIEVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Name 2 dogs that have won a double header at the golden specialty?

    2. Name the winner of the open stake at the 1940 national specialty?

    3. What was the entry fee for the 1973 open stake at the specialty?

    4. How many dogs were entered in the largest Qualifying? Name the specialty winner.

    5. Name the youngest golden to win the specialty derby stake.

    6. How many dogs were entered in the largest Open stake (specialty) and name the winner.

    7. Name the last Golden to finish the National Open?

    8. Name the last Golden to finish the National Amateur?

    9. What Amateur handler has the most Open and Amateur Specialty ribbons?

    10. What city has hosted the most specialties?
There is very little difference in dogs, but that little difference makes a big difference. The difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative.

Wow! The only one I might know the answer to is #4 ... and only 1/2 of it.

I think the largest Qualifying entry was in Ohio in 2003 ... with 105, though I believe there were ultimately some scratches, bringing it down to around 99. Yet, I don't remember who won it! I remember that Timberee at Monument Canyon, MH** took a JAM and High Times All R Money on Red, MH** was 3rd ... I remember those because neither "Reno" nor his owner, Beth, had ever run a field trial before; and I believe the same was the case for "Canyon" and his owner, Rose Ann.

It took all day to run the first series, land triple. I think about 1/2 the dogs were called back for the 2nd series.

Was it Push that won the Q in Cleveland? Lisa Kane won a double header out West somewhere.

Lisa Kane is one of the correct answers, she won the double header at the Sedalia Mo Specialty!

'fessing up. I have the 1950 and 1957 GRCA yearbooks. I'm using info from them to do some posterboards featuring field goldens from the past. These will be at the Field Welcome Dinner at the National. One of them is FT Specialty Winners from 1940-1949.............. so, umm, OK, I cheated.
