GunX troubleshooting...

It jammed a few days ago, I fiddled with it and then it started working. Today it jams again, I fiddle with it and now I got nadda.

By jam I mean you try and cock it or pull the trigger and the neither the trigger nor hammer will move. At the moment the "jam" is sorta gone---I can move the trigger and hammer, the cydinder partially rotates, but it does not fire or cock.

Ideas?

It uses 209 primers. I bought new about 1.5 years ago and have gone through a couple thousand rounds.

It is clean and well oiled.

Update: See later post about repair from GunX...bottom line, my gun is fixed, they were great!

I can load it.

I am really gun illiterate...I don't know for sure what the pin is...is that the thing in the front you pull to release the cylinder?

(I had to ask my husband what the cocker thingy was called, he said it is the hammer...)

Ok now the husband is saying that the pin is the thingy that the hammer hits. On the GunX, it is recessed in the receiver and can't be pulled out.

The Pin I was referring to is the cyliner shaft you pull forward to relese the cylinder to load the pistol.

If folks that are following this thread is payin attention,,, the very sloppy use of verrbage describing the pistols "Parts" could get very entertaining for your New Years entertainment..

I recently had the same problem with my gunx. Pull the hammer back and check to see if the transfer plate is still between the hammer and the gun. It is what the firing pin strikes to firew the round. My had broken off so I called GunX and they said to ship it back. They fixed it no charge but the shipping. I was a little worried as I am in Canada and getting even a primer pistol back and forth across the border can be tricky but there was no problem. I blamed the cold for the break but it may just have worn.

Think, "theatrical gun," when dealing with Canadian border people. You are not allowed a real pistol, but are allowed to have theatrical guns.

I guess retriever training is theater.

Ok so I just talked to the Gooser on the phone...it works when you point it up but not down...or vice versa and he tells me it is probably BROKE.

I got out a pipe cleaner (BAD husband) and stuck it through something () and VOILA a piece of broken metal pops out.

So off to the GunX repair shop.
