Convicted murderer buys guns, that is an issue that could be addressed immediately with the support of both parties and the NRA, but instead time and money will be wasted trying to create new laws that will do nothing to address the problem.

Actually, I think it does matter. Much of the general public is under the assumption that assault weapons are full auto, and as you know, they are not. If in this case it was a semi, we should not in any way be perpetuating the myth that "machine guns" are easily obtained or are in widespread illegal use.

Maybe in this case, I don't know... But in most cases criminals are not buying their guns at gun stores or gun shows... They are either stealing them or buying stolen guns. We need to enforce the laws we have before creating laws on top of more laws.
