Damn. It is never easy, and I know how hard that decision is. You did the right thing releasing him from his pain. He has left you in a lot of pain now, I know, but he knows you loved him.

I can't imagine what you must be feeling, but I know that this disease gives you little time to react. You can't beat yourself up over this. Every good dog knows we do the best we can by them and is just happy to have what time they have with us. Still, so very sorry for your loss and the hole in your heart. I hope you have memories to carry you through.
