There are two spiritual dangers in not owning a farm. One is the danger of supposing that breakfast comes from the grocery, and the other that heat comes from the furnace…........If one has cut, split, hauled, and piled his own good oak, and let his mind work the while, he will remember much about where the heat comes from, and with a wealth of detail denied to those who spend the weekend in town astride a radiator.

Count your blessings? 'Cause at my house, they usually want to be sprawled across a lap. I WISH they'd give me a foot of space.

Enjoy the space you have and forget about the pleasure you get from rubbing. Let a sleeping dog lie.

Ha! I wish my two year old would lay a foot away from me! He crawls right on me and begins chewing on my shirt, throw rug if I have one, or my self if nothing else presents itself. He ends up back on the floor and I have no foot warmer
