Actually, there is a secret to living in the north and not letting winter get you down as much.
It feels like 7°F outside, but this water is 80°F.

One of the most serious speck students I know won't leave the house before 8, and that's probably a concession to his guests. Tries not to hunt any but sunny days, either, as he doesn't like how they work, or don't, without sun. Fellow can do that when he's on his own schedule and the blind's not too far out the back door.
Don't know that I'd of had much of a hunt if I'd not been our there early this morning. Shot a pair out of an early bunch:
One of which cripped off to a nearby roost I wanted to keep on the place by approaching until after the birds left of their own volition:
and I'd of had precious little to call to during that long wait or while we were leaving after finally recovering that bird:
Just never know unless you're there, T-shirt weather or no. But it sure has that late February, "party's over" feel out there.

If you think I'm wrong, you might be right.

Raymond, post up that photo of the 50+ Gadwall y'all shot this morning. I was planting tomato, eggplant and red bell peppers when I got the text this morning.
Where do we go without great leaders for the defense of our liberties? Who will defend our right to live our lives _as we chose_ without others taking that from us? The answer is, as it should be, no one. We are the defense of our rights and should always remember that. Libertarian blogger
