How do you train/handle young dog on this concept?

A good rule of thumb for a young pup would be 1/2 the distance to the long mark and 90 degrees.

Thank you all for your comments, ideas and advice. I learned a lot about setups and have been reminded to keep the training balanced.

(Also, I am determined to take better notes of my dog's performance in training and at events, I am learning the hard way that I can't remember everything!)
