Hey folks,
I just wanted to brag on this pup. For the last 3 years we have been donating a puppy per year to experienced Search and Rescue handlers. The first two dogs passed their tests this winter and are now 'validated, operational Avalanche Search and Rescue dogs" in Fernie, BC.
This little guy is the third pup, donated in 2012, and is 8 months old now. He has a very experienced handler who formerly only owned Shepherds but has been converted to labs after meeting the first two pups. This is a video of his first search in training at the winter course this year. He has obviously done other foundation training prior to this. We expect that he will pass the evaluation next winter and will be operational in Whistler.
One of the training partners sent me this video and I think it's so neat I just had to share!
