    So, what does this have to do with anything? The guy was breaking a ton of laws! Why should those that follow the current laws be punished for those who do not?

    Caya, who was placed on 20 years of probation for a 2006 felony drug possession conviction in Watonwan County.

    It always more dramatic to say he is a felon. He could even had a felony trespassing or DUI. The story wouldn't have had the impact if you saw it was just a drug possession charge. He might have not received anything in the states which just passed pot laws.
