New guy!

Hello all. My name is nick and I am from st.amant, la.
I have been hunting upland game with my GSP for about 4 years now. I have recently aquired a pretty chocolate lab female that was in need of a home. I have come here to find someone to train her as I know nothing about training a waterfowl dog only upland game.
I am actually seeking help from Chuck McCall if possible but was unable to PM him.
I was referred by a member on another forum I frequent. Bayoushooter.

Give us a break!!! We have to work and as this is a "Retriever Training Forum", many are training right after before it gets darker and colder out!!!!

That said: Hello! Nice to meet you! Get a few more posts on other subjects/threads so that you can personally PM those two that you were specifically looking for. Also, browse the older threads for training tips. There is a HUGE wealth of information here, as well as some more humorous threads for when your eyes are glazing over at the amount of "stuff" that you can learn on here. Hi Nick, Pontchartrain HRC is in your back yard. We train most of the time in the Bonnet Carre Spillway. On most Saturdays you can find a group. You should also be able to find Chuck McCall there sometime. He has a website Chumak kennels( I think that is the correct spelling.) We have club training days on the 1st Sat if each month. We will also be holding a HRC hunt test on March 17 & 18 in the spillway. Come out and meet everyone. A lot of older folks that have been around and help you a lot.

I am totally new to bird hunting and this is my second lab. I typically spend my time hunting upland game birds with my german shorthair. If being devoted two is no probable I'm sure she will make a great flush dog and retriever. I just couldnt let her go to the pound. Guy on Craigslist had one day to get rid of her do I chimed in and picked her up.

** Is this forum compatible with tapatalk? I will get pictures as soon as I can of both my dogs. I don't have any uploaded with IMG codes. It will be faster and easier if I can find it using tapatalk.
