This could be fun ... we've had a lot of talk about candidates for POTUS; good and bad for both sides.

So, who would you like to see be the R candidates in 2016? Who would the D's on the forum prefer as the D candidates?

I'd really like to see a strong conservative for the Rs at the top of the ticket ... like Rand Paul. The selection for VP would be up to him. If Ted Cruz is eligible (someone mentioned he may be Canadian-born), he could be a viable choice four years from now.

The Ds are "suggesting" Hillary or Ole Joe. I can't believe that Joe could win.

So, what are your choices?

I still like John Thune from SoDak....and for newcomers I am liking Trey Gowdy from SoCarolina, he is relentless and wont give up, I like Issa from California too..Rand Paul show promise..still way too early to be wasting time ...I think after the mid terms we will see who is positioning themselves as contenders

IMO=Dems have painted themselves into a corner. Race was HUGE in the last 2 elections. Without that voter bloc turnout they have a problem.

I can't believe that Joe could win.

I believe a lot of us thought that about the current POTUS .

Personally I would like to see a former Governor leading the ticket. Having had some one way correspondence with the Senator from SD, I do not share your enthusiasm for his candidacy. He's certainly not allergic to Pork .

The really neat thing is the bench will be well stocked in 2016!

Well, if they ran on the Repub ticket, they would run as Repubs. The fact that they are Libertarians in the Repub Party just makes them appealing to more voters Because if the Repubs run the same old partyline Repubs, you can say "hello" to Hillary as the next POTUS.

Actually, Marvin, I fully expected him to win in 2008, but was really surprised by the win in 2012.
