If I thought the resulting offspring would be strong and healthy pups, with the hunting / retrieving characteristics I was looking for, yes. Colour wouldn't (and hasn't) figured in the calculation; once colour starts to be the major factor I don't think we are breeding for the right reasons.

IMO we make to much of the colour......a Lab is a Lab, no mater Y, B or C......they all rock!

how about this answer. i wouldn't breed a chocolate or a yellow, much less a chocolate to a yellow. my second favorite dog of all time was chocolate(black x black) and i have a nice yellow dog now(black x black)

Now now if you do your chocolate-yellow breeding chances are most likely they all come out black, and nature rights itself (LOL)
