Retriever Results - 2012 Derby analysis
Retriever Results has sent out an analysis of 2012 Derby results. It is an excellent read and contains valued information (names, points earned, sires, dams).

Want to know which sires and dams are producing Derby pups now? Want to know which breedings (same sire/same dam) put pups on the list? This is an excellent source.
Even though this is an excellent source, you do have to do additional homework to know which lines are producing and which breedings nicked.. For example, Fen and Merlyn produced 2012 Derby List pups. You need to look behind Fen and Merlyn to realize that both were sired by Fargo. I don't know how many Fargo pups have been on Derby lists in past years, but I can say "a lot". Same with Chopper, "a lot" in the past.
Shaq is top sire with 8 on the 2012 Derby list. But you need to dig deeper to find out who the dams were of those 8 pups because she also brought something to the table to nick with Shaq. Same with the other top 2012 Derby sires. Look to see who the dams were.
I guess I have too much time on my hands... I like to study pedigrees to find out where these marking Derby pups are coming from. I use Retriever News, Tammy Bell's website Finding Retrievers, and the OFA website to put the pedigrees together.
