My chocolate girl has a yellow/white streak around her tail and on the small of her back! I forget who said it but basically they said it doesn't affect their retrieving!!!

For those that have bred their dogs that have a white patch somewhere, was it passed along to their pups? I've always been curious about this....and just how/where the white spot comes from because I know of a couple of examples of pups that have it, yet neither parent has any white spots.

The white hairs on the tail like what you described are caused by the gland just under them.
"Dear Lord: Please watch over our humans, they are so weak. They have no claws or teeth, they can't run fast or fly away, neither can they burrow or build a nest in which to be safe. They smell bad, do strange things that aren't altogether intelligent, have no real ability to communicate with us, although we are able to figure out what they want."
