Default Retriever Training Club near South NJ (within 1-2 hour drive)?

I apologize if this is a question that is asked a lot. I am new here and didn't see a sticky on the subject.

I am picking up my new Chessie pup in two weeks and am hoping to get a recommendation on a couple of well respected retriever training clubs in South NJ or within an hour or two drive of the Philadelphia metro area.

I have been training hunting dogs for the past 12 years or so, but this is my first go around with a dedicated retriever. I decided on the Smartworks system and have been watching and re-watching to get started down the path. I anticipate training with the current club (versatile breed club) that I train with, but will want help along the way from retriever people. I am hoping to run the pup in JH, MH and SH tests along the way.

Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated. If you wish to shoot me a PM as well, that works too.

    Thanks in advance.

What county do you live in and who's the puppies mom?
You may not realize it but 5 or 6 or more of the best amateur Chessie trainers live within an hour of Philly in PA, NJ, DE & MD and a few more not far away.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Pine lands is not even a 20min ride for me and Assunpink is about 45mins. I will check out all of the clubs listed.

Breck, I am in Camden Co. The pup is a Pond Hollow dog. The dame is Pond Hollow Learnin to Fly. We'll see how she does.

Pinelands is the one you want if you want to train. They are the only club around that I know of, that runs monthly training days. Great group of folks. Annual meeting is coming up if you're interested in meeting some folks. Feel free to PM me for more information.

Contrary to popular opinion you arent going to be doing much training with a club. What you will get with a club is ability to meet people to train with who have similar interests and schedule as you.
