I lock mine when ever I am out of site of it except when I am at a hunt test. Maybe I should lock it there also.

At hotels mainly or if I'll be inside somewhere for a while. I tend to park where I can see my truck most of the time.
Was on road to a field trial and forgot my locks to the trailer. Got to motel late, I layed awake all nite. I would have been better off to get up and go to wal mart to get new ones.
I always lock my boxes. I lost my 31/2 year old springer, who just got a CM in the 2004 open national, The Pro got in a accident and the door came open.

My box is almost always locked.
That was a little treat for Keystone Light drinkers in Texas.
I've just gotten into the habit of always locking them. Same as I do my truck.
"Blastem Daddy!" My Son's advice to me as a big ole Tom turkey came strutting within range. My son was 6 at the time.

In "yuppyville", I lock the boxes when I am away from the vehicle. Some think you are the dog catcher and might want to set them free. HPW

I know of a loaded dog truck which went in the lake. Good reason not to lock
