Default Greetings from New Lab Retriver in Beijing

    Greetings, everyone!
Mom had always had a thing of Black Lab. He came to our home on 22/1/13, that's about 8 week. He's our first dog, named Blackie (Chinese name Xuanxuan). We have to raise him in our apartment, only pretty confined space. He's about 4.5kg now, about 12 week. He's a bit shy when outing, sometimes bites pants, slippers and fingers= = Now he could sit, shake hands retrieve soft balls.

Welcome to RTF. Are you on assignment to China or are you a citizen? He looks like a little cutie.

Blackie is cute. Lots of luck.

He has got lice on him when arrived, but we boiled herbal medicine (called BAIBU) to shower him, now they are completely gone. He's really growing up fast!
I think he is not comfortable about indoor potty. What are we gonna do when he is alone in our apartment at noon?

I would keep him in a crate when your not there and take him out as soon as you get home. If you have a friend that could come over and let him out during the day until he gets older that would be the best thing for him just remember to take him out as soon as you take him out of the crate so he can't go in the house.

friend solution won't work out. To keep him in the crate for about 10 hours? That's a little bit cruel. How about keeping him in the washroom? We can understand that even if he goes there. Besides, much larger space for him to play.

In your case one of the WeeWee pads might be good. My girlfriend lives in an apartment, works and has a small dog. The dog has been trained to go on the pad and will not soil the rest of the house. I agree, 10 hours is too long in the crate.

You have to train the dog to use the pad.

Many Thanks! Gonna try the WeeWee pads. Hope that he will get used to it soon.
