Any suggestions for young dog trainers in the midwest? Currently have a 12 wk old puppy and trying to plan ahead. My main focus would be in hunt tests.

Find some good amateur's or a pro in the Hunt Test game and through birds for them watch, ask questions etc
it will be very beneficial to you and your pup
Do you want someone to train your puppy for hunt tests or do you want help training your own pup for test if you want help training your own pup if you're willing to help me throw Birds I can help you train your own pup.

I am in the same boat and have done a lot of networking. Every pro trainer has said to keep it fun and short for the pup! Especially while he is real young. Have fun and i know I am!

And my 2 year old- Ollie (my lab husky mix, she is a pheasant tracking machine! And the reason I started bird hunting!)

Yup, Give John Ketzner (windwalkergundogs.com) a call. He's good with dogs and the people that own them!![]()

Also Tim Springer, Dynamic Retrievers. He's located near Hugo, MN in the summer just north of the metro. He does an excellent young dog program. He's transitioned to more trial stuff than hunt tests but they're all in the same if you're looking to just have the basics done and take the dog from there yourself.

Read the subject line and thought you were looking for a dog trainer that was young. Figured you must have some fire breather and was worried about the liablity when the old codger trainer got his hip broken by a dog slam.
