On this day 14 years ago HRCH Smoke's Indian Camp Magic and SRS CR.Ch Big Two Hearted River MNH7. Lyle Steinman's dog "River" died this past summer. Magic celebrated her birthday by doing a retrieve for Doctor Dave while training with g his young dog. "She just showed up at my side so she got to do a retrieve. She didn't miss a beat. She trotted out and walked back, her tail wagging."

She is nearly deaf or somewhat selective in what she hears though she still sees just fine.

To the old campaigners and loyal companions in the duck blinds. Thanks for the memories.

My girl Willow passed away the end of January 2012 she was almost 14 and a half. Just a month before she passed I had her at a tower shoot and she was picking up birds she was marking birds at 100 yds but I only let her pick up the ones with in 50 yds she even did a couple of nice water retrieves. She had a lot of heart and desire right to the end and what I wouldn't give to have her back again you never truly appreciate them until their gone.
