Man! Just got this in the mail and saw the article by Andy Whitely about FC-AFC Firemark's Elusive One. Great, well-written article about a history-making ride to the first FC-AFC Golden Female in 22 years!
Congratulations to the owners, Andy Whitely and John Gassner. And, to the breeder, Melanie Foster! What a great story.
Don't wanna sound like a name-dropper, but over the years of playing this game, I've gotten to know these folks. And, what a class act. Couldn't happen to better people. I am proud to have made their aquaintance. (huge understatement again)
And, I'm ok with the fact that they can "eat my lunch", cuz Andy has also "MADE my lunch". and he makes the best damn ribs anywhere! (Sorry, Andy. Had to let the cat out of the bag, dude)
But, seriously, it's a pleasure and a priviledge everytime we get to cross paths and train/ compete/break bread/laugh together.
Nice job, Andy!
And, nice job again to Sylvia and Glenda on another great issue.
Gotta go read the rest of it. Wanna see what I missed at specialty last fall.

I'm a member of the Team Jake fan club. I have the shirts to prove it. Andy was kind enough to send a couple, after we took care of Jake, took him to Amateur national.
I am proud to say that I introduced Jake to cheese..

As for Lucifer...many of us have enjoyed watching her run..

Still wearing our Team Jake T's in training..seem to bring some comfort at times ....along with the reversable white/orange sight blind stakes tucked away in storage for the next pup...!!

Guess an FC AFC "Lucy" T ..should be arranged as well!!
