On the main forum page some threads have a red envelope and some blue. What is the color significance?

Oh, the GDG conundrum!! It may take awhile to decipher that one. There always appears to be some confusion as to what that actually means. Many here may toy with you a bit. Perhaps someone with no sense of fun will just blurt it out. It shan't be me.
