Well, this started off as a really interesting thread. Too bad we couldn't keep it that way. (Rick_C 2009, Classic RTF)

Snow in Colorado means water in Glen Canyon and Lake Powell which makes for good striper fishing for Bon and his brother Jerry...I have given up on fishing Lake Mead, the water level has just dropped way too low, and all my hotspots are now mud or even dry lake bed
Exactly!!!
Colorado has PLENTY of water, if theys would keep it for theirownselves..
People who live in true deserts,, shouldnt have Green golf courses and lawns!!
There ,, I said it!!
They also sould do theys fishin in Gravel pits!

Colorado aint got no snow! You got your little bitty 10" while here in the real Rockies we got over 3 FEET in a couple of days. AND..... we's expectin' 10 more inches today, (must be sucking up what Colorado decided it didn't need)![]()

Umm, Carol, I live on the plains, in front of the mountains. Our mountains got 3 feet, and are getting another foot today,

I worked at Climax above Fremont Pass in the early 60's, average snowfall was 33 feet. Snow started in October & we would still be skiing on corn snow in May if desired.
About that same time they did the Arkansas-Frying Pan project - though I knew water rights were a big deal from my Mining background, I did not realize the significance of a Congressional Act to transfer water from one drainage to another. It shows the power of the CA delegation at the time!
There will be a day when water become worth more than gold unless it is properly allocated & used. Folks already pay more for bottled water than they do gas.

We live at the base of the mountain and only got 5" at the house. We think we've arranged this thing pretty good. A 15 minute drive to the resort where we work and all the snow and beauty we can stand. Down at the house a very manageable amount to deal with. But we are grateful for all the moisture, it was beginning to look like another bad fire year. Hopefully things will improve now. And I agree with Gooser, if you're going to live in the desert, don't try to grow stinking golf courses with our water!
