    Default Alcohol.... TOTAL GDG!!

    I dont drink much anymore.

My Favorite Scotch use to be Chivas regal.

I never owned a bottle that lasted more than a few days, .... when I drank..

Diane and I,, when we got married 16 yrs ago, recieved a bottle of Chivs, that has been opened,, but may only have one shot poured from it..

    Does that stuff go bad???

Or,, is it better now that it is old??

    Also,,,

We have a very small collection of wine... Again neither of us drink... We buy the stuff,, then give it away when we discover we need an emergency gift..

Some a that stuff was kinda pricey, compared to the "ripple" and" Boonesfarm strawberry hill" I used to chase my Chivas with..

    Question.....

If the wine is stored with the bottle tipped towards the cork,,but, it is pretty much kept at roon temperature in the sealed bottle,,, Are we giving away fine vinegar when we gift it?/

You might be doing just that. Wine and people are a lot alike. Most improve with age but the occasional bottle turns bad with age.

Found this quote and thought it answered both questions.

"Wine is made from food and is perishable. While a bottle of
vodka will not go bad due to its alcohol content, the alcohol content of wine is
not high enough to prevent it from going bad. Even those bottles kept for a few
months, or even a few weeks, can be positively or negatively impacted by how
    they are stored.

Storage requirements depend on the type of wine and its
intended use. The majority of wines made today are “ready to drink” (especially
the less expensive ones). These wines will not improve and should be consumed
within 6-12 months of bottling. Red and especially white wines that are made to
improve with age will only do so with the proper storage."

I'd drink the worst one, while I could still stand it.

If you drink enough of the good first it will turn the bad into good....blame it on science?
