    Default AKc HT scratch procedure/policy

Not to hijack the other discussion, but if you enter a dog in a HT via EE and scratch by the proper date, do you get a full or partial refund or none at all?
    How does this work?

The premium usually has the club's refund policy on it.

I have had to scratch twice, but only one was recognized because I was able to obtain a vet's note. The refund came from the club, not EE. I don't know if EE refunds money or not.

If you scratch prior to closing, you need to scratch via EE and you will be refunded the entry fee but not the $4.50 processing fee. I would highly recommend CCing the HTS on an email to EE (entries@entryexpress.net) when you scratch, plus calling them during normal business hours is also advised...waiting till 11:58pm the night the entries closes is not cool IMHO.

After closing you are subject to the policy stated in the premium.

I agree with Paula in regards to checking the premium. I scratched once. I scratched through EE prior to closing and received a full refund minus EE fee of $4.50 I believe.

After closing, club must give full refund for bitch in season, or injury.

Read the AKC REgs and the club premium. That will give you all the info you need.

Believe 2 different conversations going on here and both are correct.
If you enter an Akc event ht or ft and Withdraw before closing there is a 4.50 ee charge as stated above.
If something happens after the close it comes under the club scratch policy as long as i
The club policy does not conflict with the Akc policy.

The new ht limited entry option does cause conflict when it is seemingly abused

It would be helpful if EE would automate the ability for handlers to scratch an entry prior to close. Today, one has to either call or e-mail EE and they remove your entry, refund your credit card (minus their $4.50 fee) and open up a spot in the test for someone else.

If someone sends in a scratch request after 5 PM Central Time on the day of closing, it isn't processed until the following morning and others who might have entered in the open spot are shut out and the club closes with fewer than their maximum number of entries, even though there may have been people to fill those slots.

It doesn't seem like ot would be too difficult to create an on-line scratch capability using the original transaction number. Might allow a few more folks to get into otherwise full tests.
