    Default Picking up pup?

Hey guys first poster here! Looking for advice, the pup I am getting is ready for pick-up this Wednesday. But, I am leaving for a vacation in Colorado on the 15th-23rd and won't be able to take the pup. Should I go ahead and pick the pup up now to socialize it to me and then take it back to the breeder before I leave, or wait until after I return? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Where are you in the picking (pecking) order?

Thank you! I am the last person in the order. So I already know which pup I will be picking up

How old is the pup? If this is a 7 or 8 week old pup, and the breeder is willing to keep him/her, I would (probably) wait the 2 1/2 weeks, and get the pup after the vacation.

I know how hard it is to wait if you've been planning on getting the pup for a while...

Well, this started off as a really interesting thread. Too bad we couldn't keep it that way. (Rick_C 2009, Classic RTF)

That's why I asked. If the breeder is willing to hold the pup an extra couple of weeks, you might as well leave him there. No use uprooting him several times in such a short span. JMO... Good luck with your pup.

by leaving the pup you will let it be a bit more socialized before you pick it up unless you already have a dog but i would pick it up later jmho
