Default 15 ways to cut the budget--why can't we get 'er done?

Found a thought provoking article on ways to cut the budget and I thought I'd throw it pout for discussion.

Obviously written by someone who doesn't know much from your side of the aisle .

Marv, I bet you didn't even read it did you?
Why don't you contribute something other than an attack. Surely you have some erudite opinion to offer. Partisan attacks solve nothing.

I did sarge - I'm quick with numbers - but why don't you tell me the parts you consider good & I will reply - I'm interested in your opinion . Some of the positions stink to high heaven.

The reason they can't get it done is because they don't want to. Its not part of their plan
I recently sent a clip of Alan Greenspan who said we can't default on our loans ,,,we can just print more money. That doesn't sound like someone who wants to quit spending.
I don;t know if you have noticed our government is being run by Howdy doody and lamb chops with a global agenda. The last thing they want to do is balance the budget.
hell they all just got a efn pay raise.
    John 5 :30
I can of my own self do nothing ,as I hear , I judge,,and my judgement is just, because I seek not my own will,,but the will of the father which hath sent me
John 7:16 -- Jesus answered them and said my doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
mark 16:9 -- So then after the lord had spoken unto them,he was received up in heaven, and sat on the right hand of God
I Tim. 2:5 --For there is one God and one mediator between God and man ,, the man Christ Jesus

Some of these require more than a cursory look. On the quick look, I'm not sure I go along with the VAT tax and carbon tax.

There is no good VAT. It only opens the door for more manipulation of the tax code.

I'm waiting for those of the 15 you find merit with, & your reasons.

The only good thing about the VAT tax is more of the free loaders money gets returned to the system. However, they will start demanding more in the future. Look at Greece, Spain and now Italy. It just extends the time of a future failure in the economy. Economics will always rule in the long run and the government cannot control it no matter how much they try.

Out training most of the day so I couldn't reply in a timely manner to Marv.
    Things I would support:
-Restructuring of the military to tune it to the current nature of threat to the nation.

-Reduction of subsidies to the fosssil fuel industries.

    - Disaster program reform, especially encourageing relocation out of areas that are prone to catastrophic events.

    - Limiting tax deductions to 15%

-Early intervention in maintaining individuals in the workplace rather than filing for disability.

    Things that maybe impracticable:
    - increase incentives to low income people to save.

Things I don't like in this proposal:

-User fees to build infrastructure. (I curse the cost of transiting through Chicago)
