    Those are really nice mounts guys!

    Here is what I am talking about..

    It is far easier to spit on the work of others than it is to produce something better yourself.

    I've seen a lot of nice mule deer and similar mounts on nice pedestals like that. You might try contacting the taxidermists in your area... they may or may not want to pay what you wouold have to get...



    Not mine, but this is pretty common...

    Moose, here are the pics. I do prefer the natural habitat pedestals to wood bases but they both look nice.

    Most of the kind of pedestal that you are looking at are designed to have weight (sand Bags) placed inside to help stablize the piece. I have seen Cape Buffalo on that same base before.

    I like the in flight hanging mounts, usually on a nice piece of drift wood. I've seen some very nice pedestal mount but, I believe there was a thread awhile back about a dog getting a nice mount with great sentimental value off the wall. A ground pedestal seem a little too close to the ground for a few feather hungry pups I know, I'll probably be hanging them from the ceiling in a few months
