Dummies - questions and looking for input

I currently use all of the bumpers you are asking about with the exception of the hexa-bumpers as they crack and break in the cold (this includes the new supposed softer ones) I have 3.5 dozen 3" sportdog bumpers for doing yard work. Many folks like to use the 2" those would save you a little bit over the 3". Sportdog bumpers are my go to bumper, you can get them in six packs from some retailers and save money. The dokkens are more money but I like the releasim of them I usually keep a dozen of them on hand. I tend to use them more in the cold and snow. While the dokkens do get to smelling if they get wet it doesnt bother me, and the dogs dont seem to mind either

The thing about Dokkens is they have no more training value than regular bumpers at 3Xs the price.

Huntemup.com has 2" bumpers (black, orange, and white) on sale for $3.50/ea right now. I ordered a bunch as this is the best price I've seen in awhile. I believe the sale is still going on.

WHile on the subject of bumpers, I really wish that they would all do away with valves. IMO it's a worthless PIA feature

DT Systems, hands down. Warm weather, cold it doesn't matter. ... I would own nothing else, and have had or tried most on the market.

Bert, what Golddogs said, and which is gospel - despite the original poster succumbing to advice that "a bumper is a bumper is a bumper." It ain't. Try DT Systems for your new pup, the valve's internal, as with footballs. And they are the best training bumper out there for starting pups off retrieving



without question.

I totally agree with you on the dokens. I have about 4 doz avery hex bumpers, and most of them are cracked and I only had them for a couple of years. Lucky Dog in my opinion are the way to go.
