Here we are doing a couple of water marks on the big pond on the property:

Yea, I'm actually a bit concerned about working the knucklehead. He is obviously taking a snout full of that dust every time he picks up a dummy. I'm sure it also gets in his eyes etc. I actually have been just working on the small, watered part of the yard out on that property, but it really reduces the length of the retrieves and this guy LOVES to RUN and needs LOTS of exercise to keep him happy and fit. I think that in the last twelve months we have probably had less than 10 inches of rain and we have already had at least one 90 degree day. Our average evaporation rate this time of year is about 3 inches/month, but by August will be about 11 inches. Can't build up any soil moisture at that rate. Even the mesquites are looking stressed.

I heard on the radio today that there are some cities that will run out of water in April.

And yet, the brilliant folks in local and state govt and in the various Chambers of Commerce are hell bent on attracting more folks to Texas. Just idiotic!!! Anybody asks me about moving here, I tell them that Texas is nothing but cactus, spiders, scorpions, and rattlesnakes!! Hotter than Hell and dryer than a big bite of persimmon. The folks are a bunch of tobacco spittin, pickup driving, gun loving, rednecks. You won't like it here.
