It was bleat and warble. I appreciate that you ignored the bleating aspect as it was directed at you. The difficulty of being a sheep is acknowledging that one is indeed ovis aries whose cries might be describribed as bleating, where warbling is certainly the cry of the disaffected. I stand with you there. JD

To me the Syrian situation seems a no-win. If US supports the rebels it quite possibly ends up as another Egypt or Libya, with a strongly Islamist govt. If we stay out of the mess, there is criticism for that.

Overall, my thoughts come down to letting these fellas work out their own mess. Maybe just help Jordan and/or other neighbors with food and medical support for the refugees that are flowing into those countries. Let the adversarial forces in Syria take responsibility for their own actions, and leave it at that.
Gerry....we agree...it is not our problem and that is how a war weathered country feels now finally...it ain't our problem. Have not heard much of the news on this but I bet McCain is blaming Obama for this and no one is listening.

Anyway...we cut spending across the board 10% so why do we want to go fight a fight that will require cuts in military pay in order to stay with budget if we go there. We fix a lot of budget problems if we stay out of others business.

Have they admitted that they always KNEW there were no WMD or that they never BELIEVED that Iraq had WMD, because my recollection was that Pres. Bush said that he BELIEVED that Iraq had WMD, and if that is what he believed, whether correct or not, then his statement was true, not a lie. That's just my recollection, I wasn't following it day and night then, nor am I now.

To the issue at hand: Why don't we just come out and say that we don't really give a rat's ass if the folks over there wipe each other out to the last man and let them get after it? Let somebody else be the cop. Embargo travel to the region like we have with Cuba, get it off the news, and let them solve their own centuries old problems. WE can't afford it.

Did you fellas see that US UN Ambassador Rice actually criticized the UN for inaction in Sudan & stood with Israel on some statements made by the UN Humanitarian agency? Maybe the jerks in the UN have finally over-stepped their own stupidity?

Obama and his 'Administration' will not react or provide any substantive comments on this topic....and the 'Fly by Media' will not ask any hard questions....! This is what the Obama Administration is all about....
