I have a lab that I used to give fish oil to. Every dose that I gave her she would break out in hives, has anyone else seen this?

What brands of fish oil capsules are recommended and, has anyone used Krill oil capsules for their dogs?

just wondering how many trainers give this supplement to there dogs? Anybody use this for a dog with allergies or dry skin?
    Thanks in advance
I found a good dog food I like, but something was lacking, because my dogs' coats were glossy, but their skin was flakey. So I went all out and bought a jug of Grisley Wild Salmon Oil. Within 2 weeks their coats were even softer and shinier, and the flakes disappeared. For 2 big dogs, a 64oz jug will last about 2 months.

I use the same product and have had success with it.

Interesting read about this on Lardy's blog. My dog does great on PP Performance and I stopped giving him fish oil.

My repro vet says that dogs metabolize krill oil about 5X better than fish oil, so the boy is on 1000 mg a day of krill oil.
I have read that there is some evidence that fish/krill oil helps prevent further damage from TBDs that lurk in the body for years, such as Lyme.

I buy the 500 mg Neptune's Krill Oil from Puritan's Pride (www.puritan.com). He gets one pill, twice a day.

A vet told me to buy the fish oil in capsules because the stuff in the big bottles oxidizes, and to get pharmaceutical grade fish oil. He says the amount of fish oil in dog food is not high enough to do much.

I have 900 mg capsules, one per day to 60 lb labs.
