I don't think so. I think you need a Junior handler certification form. I'm a hunt test chairman and I recieved a bunch of these. The hunt test secretary should have them. Just e-mail the secretary/chairman and give them a "heads up", that you will need them for the event you are attending.
My understanding is he will need the junior handler certificate but will also need the AKC junior handler number on that form. I emailed AKC and they got me to the right person to get his handler number and when they sent me the number they also sent me copies of the junior handler certificate to use when he runs.
My daughter started running junior tests this year. When I checked with AKC about being able to do this they had me submit a form requesting a junior handler number. The number goes on the form thats been mentioned and the judges submit that with their judges books after the event.
Am I reading the Junior handler rules correctly?
I read it to say that the dog must be owned or co owned by the junior, or one of his immediate family. Is this correct?
Well, this started off as a really interesting thread. Too bad we couldn't keep it that way. (Rick_C 2009, Classic RTF)
Take what you get and thank them (the Judges) afterwards no matter what the outcome. (Moira Sheehan)
His parents aren't into dogs, but they have allowed him to learn how to handle and train.....
Anyone know the UKC/HRC policy? It would be a shame not to allow him to run and dog in an event just because he doesn't "own" a dog.......guess I can always add him as a co-owner.....
