Alcoholism and drug use may be an addicition. Politics is a predilection. Que no? JD

PS hot on the left, cold on the right, and the other only runs downhill. Plumb regards, but here on PP it usually rides to the top.

Sorry Bon, your thread went so GDG...

I agree that the United States is the greatest country in the world, but look at what we have to compare to. And under the current leadership, we're on a fast downhill slide toward becoming a Third World cesspool

Then in 2016, if we have the gumption, we will have leadership....I have lived in the third world, in fact we sometimes joke that here in NM we live in the fourth world were things are really bad, and watch that fish....JD

I really didn't expect an answer. what has concerned me is the predeliction of liberals to define strong dissagreement with the policies of the current administration as hatred for the president. I have always been curious as to whether liberals actually believe what they are saying but are just trying to change the subject from policy to fictitious hatred.

It might surprise you that I have far more respect for Bernie Sanders that Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Barney Frank, Obama, ect. He at least states honestly his socialist position and makes no apology for it. From those according to ability, to those according to need. That is his belief. I strongly dissaggree, but I can respect him for his honesty.

As to my example, the addict is the American people, the drug is entitlements, and the drug pusher is the government. When the drug brings the American people to their knees and they swear off the drug, then maybe the bottom will have been reached, then recovery can begin. To be sure liberals look at entitlements as a right not a drug. That is the dissagreement, not hatred.

    Certainly!
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.... And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure." Thomas Jefferson

True then and very much true today whether you believe it or not.

So you actually believe a rebellion every 20 years would be a good thing? I think Mr. Jefferson was a little off the mark with that statement.-Paul

If the government gets too big for its britches it is. We have let the government get completely out of control, so a violent rebellion at this point would be very, VERY bad. The rebellion needs to be in the voting booth. Bloodshed is not the answer.

We have been out numbered by the parasites who feed on the "Host" (taxpayers) for awhile now. Add 20-24 million illegals to the mix who are also Gimmedats and it becomes hopeless at the ballot box. What they couldn't achieve at the ballot box has been enacted through EO or the supremes, immigration reform will give them the ballot box until the revolution.
