What is the oldest you would breed a heathly female lab that is in great shape?

It depends; has she had a litter before? if she has did she have any trouble whelping and was she a good mother? is she worthy of breeding (health clearances, titles, temprament)? There is a lot of information needed before you get a straight answer to what I suspect your are asking.

Let's see last year had a friend do one @ 8 yrs. and another @ 9 yrs. Both mom's first litter, on the smaller size (5-6) but they did fine with it. Of course these are hunting females, who are kept in very good shape, and very healthy dogs over-all. The owners just finally realized that they might be getting on in age, and wanting a puppy out of them. I think it would be one of those "depends" on the female decisions, but is she was healthy, in good shape, did well with a litter before, etc. I don't think I'd put and age limit on it. After all one of my grandmothers had her last WHOOPS child @ 45 yrs, and I'm very glad she did or I wouldn't be here
