    what prongs are recommended for a chesapeake? short or long.

    Long contacts and snug it up.

    I think long or short depends on certain factors like thickness of coat. If the dog is receiving the stimulation with short points that is fine, if not switch to long.

    Having said that a TT rep told our dog club that the short contacts were a public relations move.
