    Default Tom Lehrer

When I was a young man we were treated to some real comedy. Mike Nichols & Elaine May, Sid Caesar & Imogene Coca, others forgetable & Tom Lehrer. Tom will be 85 next month, but was quite the character. Harvard @ 15 with necessary creds, but multi talented with very clever songs - all 37 of them . Such notables as the "Vatican Rag", "National Brotherhood Week", "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park", "Be Prepared" (safe sex advice to Boy Scouts), "Lobachevsky" (on plagiarism), "Smut" (an ode to obscenity), "So Long Mom", & the "Elements". His initial hit "Fight Fiercely, Harvard" Is still played at Harvard football games.Somewhere in my LP's I have at least one of his.

His comments briefly on the world today -

    With that, Good Night .
